Show #003: It’s never too early to start your own award winning design business
Aug 18th, 2007 by Jon Coulter
In the show this week, I interview Andy Bradshaw, founder of design agency Oneighty Creative.
Andy shares the story of how he and his wife Sam, after having met as design students and worked in a high profile design agency in London, returned to the North West in their early 20’s to launch their own design business - Oneighty Creative.
Andy describes how the business has rapidly developed and accumulated numerous awards including the Shell ‘Livewire’ Young Entrepreneur of the Year award.
Andy’s top business advice includes:
- Know what you want to do, ensure you HAVE A VERY CLEAR GOAL
- DON’T TAKE ‘KNOCK-BACKS’ TO HEART, always ask why and learn from the experience
- DON’T TAKE ‘NO’ FOR AN ANSWER
- CASH FLOW, don’t dip into you cash reserves to fund a project when you can get great borrowing terms from your bank
