My guest, Boyd Hargreaves is Retail Director of Oswaldtwistle Mills and also happens to be a member of a family synonymous with the cotton industry in the region - James Hargreaves having invented the ‘Spinning Jenny’ in the 1760’s.
Oswaldtwistle Mills today is a thriving and bustling destination with 76 different retailers, a sweet factory, garden centre and spacious grounds and is probably the region’s best example of how cotton mill sites have reinvented themselves.
Boyd talks us through the history of Oswaldtwistle Mills, from the early cotton days to the present multi-award winning shopping village and he outlines his ambitious plans for future development.
He also shares some of his business insights including:
- PEOPLE BUY FROM PEOPLE - look after your staff and customers
